Description
The first Capacity Building Event of the CEOS project (LIFE23-CET-CEOS, GA: 101167707) will take place on 23 May 2025 at the Golden Age Hotel in Athens, bringing together project partners, municipal representatives, EU stakeholders, and sustainability experts to promote knowledge exchange and collaboration on energy optimisation at the municipal level.
This event represents a key milestone in the CEOS project’s mission to develop innovative, scalable solutions for reducing carbon emissions in cities. Through the LIFE Programme, and with the support of CINEA (European Climate, Infrastructure and Environment Executive Agency), the CEOS project fosters partnerships to enhance the energy performance of public infrastructure, particularly in buildings and water pumping systems.
During the event, the following will be presented:
- The main goals and actions of the CEOS project
- Opportunities for municipalities to participate in the implementation of energy plans
- Key challenges faced by municipalities in their efforts towards energy upgrading and sustainable development
- The benefits offered by the CEOS project to local government entities, both technical and financial
- The European funding framework for energy upgrading projects and the green transition
- The importance of certification and verification of energy performance in public sector projects
The event will conclude with final remarks and closing, followed by a networking session to facilitate deeper dialogue and future collaborations.
The CEOS First Capacity Building Event offers a unique opportunity for municipalities, sustainability professionals, and project partners to gain insights, exchange experiences, and explore practical tools for enhancing energy efficiency and climate resilience at the city level.
