Practical information
Description
This workshop on the island of Astypalea is a follow-up event of our kick-off meeting on the same topic last July in Croatia. We are happy that we can deepen and enlarge the network we started building together last year and are looking forward to inspiring discussions with representatives from different countries about similar challenges.
Why are islands important when it comes to energy transition? Islands are like small isolated "laboratories" and can serve as examples for other communities on how to implement projects and tackle problems & challenges. Why do we want to meet and discuss? We want to foster exchange on the best practice examples and cross border networking of experts and mayors from different countries because they all face similar challenges on their islands. We can benefit from knowledge exchange and work together in the future.
Who do we want to discuss matters with? Key stakeholders from science, local politics and civil society are crucial. What are the topics? Electric mobility, clean energy production, energy cooperatives and energy communities, energy self-sufficient islands.
