EnergySmart Hackathon: Decarbonised Solutions 2024

Event objective

The goal of the event is to raise awareness among the general public, particularly youth and future construction professionals, about the necessity and benefits of decarbonisation, energy efficiency, and achieving climate neutrality. 

Through the conference segment featuring speeches from leading experts and practical workshops, we aim to increase understanding and adoption of innovative solutions and technologies aimed at reducing CO2 emissions, enhancing building energy efficiency, and transitioning towards a sustainable, climate-neutral future.

Event format

The event will consist of two parts: 

• Part I: Conference format with presentations from speakers representing international and national organisations. 
• Part II: Practical work with the target audience, including graduates of vocational education institutions, students from leading higher education institutions in the community, and high school graduates. This segment will cover the following directions:
  • Energy-efficient architecture
  • Modern methods of building thermomodernisation
  • Opportunities for learning and scientific activities with the Energy Innovation Hub of SNAU (Sumy National Agrarian University) 

In addition, participants will attend workshops on:

• Energy auditing
• Practical work with a solar power station
• Operational model of wind power generation
