Description
The use of renewable energies is becoming increasingly crucial for the successful transformation of our energy supply. One promising option for generating clean energy is osmotic energy. This form of energy is harnessed in estuaries where fresh water from rivers meets salt water from the oceans, creating a potential difference that can be converted into electricity.
Our event will explore the recent EU report on "The Potential of Osmotic Energy in the EU" and examine the advancements and opportunities in this field. Additionally, we will discuss the valorisation of brine, a by-product of desalination processes, which contains valuable minerals such as magnesium, lithium, rubidium, and cesium. Extracting these minerals not only supports the efficient operation of the salt industry and desalination processes but also contributes to the circular economy. Join us to learn about the innovative technologies driving the future of sustainable energy and resource recovery and discover how osmotic energy and brine valorisation are key to achieving net zero solutions.
