Responsibilities

Javier Pamplona is an engineer specialised in renewable energy, climate change, and public policy. He previously worked in geothermal engineering, designing systems to decarbonise heating and cooling in residential and industrial buildings.

He served as head of energy and climate policy at the Spanish Association of Energy Service Companies, where he played an active role in European projects such as Horizon 2020’s Efficiency as a Service.

For nearly four years, he has been an energy policy advisor to the deputy prime minister of Spain and minister for the ecological transition, Teresa Ribera. He currently serves in the cabinet of the new deputy prime minister, Sara Aagesen.
