Responsibilities

Joanna Pandera is the Founder and President of Forum Energii, a Polish think tank supporting the energy transition, and has a PhD in environmental sciences. Having authored and co-authored more than 150 publications, she is a recognised voice in European energy and climate regulation, energy markets, renewable energy, and the challenges of energy system transformation.  

Dr. Pandera has worked in central government, at Polish and international universities (Universities of Poznan, Kiel and Potsdam) and in international business (e.g., Ørsted). She is a former Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Environment and served as Head of Cabinet to the Minister of Environment from 2007 to 2011. She was also involved in global (under UNFCCC) and EU climate, energy and environment negotiations. 

Currently, she is a part-time professor at the European University Institute in Florence (Florence School of Transnational Governance), and a member of the Scientific Council of the Institute of Environmental Protection - National Research Institute, the Advisory Board of the European Council on Foreign Relations, and the European Agora Energiewende Council in Brussels.
