Announcing the 2025 Young Energy Ambassadors

A new generation of young professionals is stepping up to help lead the charge towards a cleaner and more sustainable future. We are proud to introduce the 2025 Young Energy Ambassadors (YEA): a group of 30 inspiring individuals from across Europe, playing a key role in the continent’s energy transition.

Aged between 18 and 34, these ambassadors bring passion, talent, and fresh ideas to the table. Representing a wide range of European countries and diverse backgrounds, they will work together to accelerate Europe’s clean energy transition and help pave the way to climate neutrality by 2050.

A record-breaking participation

This year, we were thrilled to see incredible interest in the call, with nearly 1,300 applications submitted from across Europe. After a tough selection process, we are excited to welcome 30 outstanding ambassadors.

Each of the Young Energy Ambassadors brings a unique mix of skills and experiences to the forefront of Europe's energy transition: engineers pioneering smart grid technologies, policy advisors shaping national decarbonisation strategies, AI innovators tackling emissions, and advocates for youth and gender equity in the energy sector.

From Slovenia to Spain, and from academic research to startup ventures, they are united by a shared mission: creating a just and inclusive energy transition. Together, they embody the diversity and determination needed to accelerate the shift towards a carbon-neutral Europe.

Engaging at EUSEW

The Young Energy Ambassadors will play a key role at this year’s EUSEW, taking place from 10 to 12 June 2025. EUSEW will shine a spotlight on youth perspectives, encouraging new ideas and inclusive dialogue.

Ambassadors will participate in a range of interactive formats. They will collaborate with professionals and policymakers in co-creation sessions and tackle key challenges in the energy transition.

Do not miss the session organised by the Young Energy Ambassadors on promises of net-zero energy and green design in European cities.

More than an event: a year-long mission

What sets the Young Energy Ambassadors programme apart is its year-long mandate. Beyond EUSEW, the ambassadors will continue their work throughout the year by sharing insights, collaborating with our media partners on raising awareness, and keeping youth perspectives central in ongoing energy discussions.

They will also take part in activities and campaigns beyond Brussels, helping to amplify the message of climate action and clean energy across Europe. Their work will inspire others to get involved and drive positive change in their own communities.

In the coming months, we will be sharing more stories from the 2025 Young Energy Ambassadors and following their journey. Come meet this wonderful team at EUSEW 2025 – register now to join from 10 to 12 June in Brussels and online for inspiring sessions, fresh ideas, and youth-driven action.
