Finalists of the 2024 European Sustainable Energy Awards announced

Public voting for the best European clean energy projects and leaders now open

EUSEW 2024

The​ European Sustainable Energy Awards ​(EUSEW Awards) recognise outstanding individuals and projects for their innovation and efforts in energy efficiency and renewables. Prizes will be awarded in three categories: Innovation, Local Energy Action, and Woman in Energy. Winners are announced during the EUSEW Awards Ceremony οn 11 June 2024 in the presence of European Commissioner for Energy Kadri Simson and the​ high-level jury

The winners will be decided by an online public vote, which is open now until 2 June.


European Sustainable Energy Awards 2024 Finalists

Innovation

The EUSEW Innovation Award recognises outstanding ongoing or recently completed EU-funded projects that show an original and innovative path towards the clean energy transition.

 

The Airborne Wind Energy (AWE) solution harnesses stronger winds higher up, improving renewable energy efficiency and reshaping the industry.

 

outPHit is a Spanish project that renovates the way towards sustainable living and resilient buildings.

 

PHOTORAMA proposes a game-changing breakthrough that sparks solar panel recycling revolution in Austria.

 

Local Energy Action

The EUSEW Local Energy Action Award recognises implemented sustainable energy actions, driven by a group of citizens or consumers (associated with a municipality or other stakeholders), which contribute to the clean energy transition at the community or local level. It also inspires and motivates others to implement similar steps for an EU-wide deployment, resulting in economic and environmental benefits.

 

The Centrales Villageoises initiative aims to empower communities for renewable energy production in France.

 

De Energiecentrale is a one-stop shop for energy renovation advice in Ghent.

 

The PEAR project aims to empower Italian hospitals through ambitious energy initiatives.

 

Woman in Energy

The EUSEW Woman in Energy Award recognises women who lead outstanding activities that, if replicated, help to advance the clean energy transition in Europe. Particular attention is placed on efforts to drive the gender mainstreaming agenda and support equality and equal opportunities in the energy sector.

Rita Gomes is an empowering architect who redefines indoor solar solutions in Portugal.

 

Karolina Attspodina is a German-based Ukrainian who illuminates solar balcony kits.

 

EUSEW 2024 

The European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), the biggest annual event dedicated to renewables and efficient energy use in Europe, takes place on 11-13 June under the theme ‘Net-zero energy solutions for a competitive Europe.’ The event will focus on delivering Europe's decarbonisation through green technologies and solutions towards a fair and just transition for people and competitive businesses.
