Organising a Sustainable Energy Day is your opportunity to set the agenda on a topic you want to bring to the forefront in renewables and sustainable energy. Get inspired by the highlights from the Sustainable Energy Days held last year and take note of how to plan an effective event to gather sustainable energy enthusiasts.

PUTTING YOUNG PEOPLE AT THE FOREFRONT: YOUTH ENERGY TRANSITION

This online event got young people from all over Europe involved in online discussions about the energy transition, sustainability and Europe’s Green Deal. With 2022 being the European Year of Youth, it is as important as ever to give young people a voice and provide them with a platform to share their views.

BUILDING INTERNATIONAL CONNECTIONS: NEXT LATAM-EU GENERATION

Sustainable Energy Days can take place anywhere around the globe, making them the ideal opportunity to generate fruitful links between Europe and the rest of the world. Last year, a dedicated workshop by Finnova, an organisation working across Europe, engaged participants in a discussion on ‘Sustainable development, European funds and business cooperation as an action plan against climate change and environmental degradation’.

TACKLING A CONCRETE ISSUE: FOREST WASTE TO ENERGY

As we push towards implementing the EU Green Deal, it is more important than ever to strengthen communities around shared issues and viable ways to solve them. Last year, an event dedicated to outlining sources of EU funding to fight forest fires was a great example of how Sustainable Energy Days can bring together stakeholders facing a common threat and connect them to real solutions.

HACKING SOLUTIONS TO THE CLIMATE CRISIS: ENERGY CITY HACKATHON

By bringing together bright thinkers to tackle pressing issues and ideas, a hackathon is the ideal way to rally-together like-minded people and push for change. Last year’s Energy City Hackathon in Yerevan brought together tech experts, creatives, entrepreneurs and young scientists to work on solutions to the city’s energy-management issues.

Do you have an idea for involving young people in the renewable energy transition, sharing solutions with experts, or hacking solutions with an international audience? A Sustainable Energy Day is the perfect way to start turning thoughts into action! Read the guidelines and register your Sustainable Energy Day as part of the European Sustainable Energy Week 2022.
