You’re one in a million: how to navigate EUSEW in person

Every year, the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) brings together thousands of people who are shaping Europe’s clean energy future. And in 2025, you will be one of them. Whether you are a policy expert, an innovator, or simply passionate about sustainable energy, attending EUSEW in person is a really exciting adventure.  But with so much happening, it helps to know how to navigate it.

With two venues, more than five sessions running in parallel, and countless opportunities to network, how do you make sure you get the most out of your time at Europe’s biggest sustainable energy event? Here is a practical guide to help you navigate the programme, the space and the crowd.

Start with the programme

The EUSEW Policy Conference features over 60 sessions, covering everything from competitiveness and investments in clean energy to new technologies, behavioural interventions and community projects. With many sessions taking place simultaneously, it is worth taking some time to plan your days in advance.

The best place to start is the EUSEW interactive programme. You can filter sessions by topic, host, or day, and bookmark the ones that interest you. There is so much to choose from!

Want to dive into a particular thematic category? Use the thematic filters to narrow it down. If you are logged in, your personal agenda will save automatically.

Here is one of the many paths that EUSEW 2025 offers. Following the opening plenaries and Awards ceremony on 10 June, advance your day with a session on affordable housing for resilient cities, and wrap it up with the ManagEnergy Talk on how neuroscience can power up the energy transition. Wednesday 11 June will be a very busy day. But do not miss the session organised by the Young Energy Ambassadors on promises of net-zero energy and green design in European cities. And on 12 June, explore local actions for energy systems integration and smart distribution grids.

The programme includes links to all sessions, as well as a lineup of hundreds of speakers

Find your way around

EUSEW 2025 will be held across two buildings in the EU quarter: the Charlemagne building and the Martin’s Brussels EU hotel. It takes about five minutes to walk from one to the other, but with back-to-back sessions, those five minutes count.

When you arrive, grab a printed map or download the digital version via the interactive platform. It will help you locate the session rooms, the Energy Fair, the media corner, coffee points and accessible facilities. Speaking of coffee, it is on the house (and so are the lunch breaks). These are perfect moments to catch your breath, review your notes, check the schedule or strike up a conversation with someone you sat next to in a session. Some of the most valuable connections at EUSEW do not always happen in sessions.

Meet the people who matter

One of the best things about EUSEW is the crowd. The space is full of potential partners, collaborators and friends. But with thousands of people around, you will want to be a bit more strategic, as it may be difficult to bump into the people you were willing to connect with by accident. Here is how to get the most out of the in-person opportunities at EUSEW:

  • Update your profile: once registered, log in to the EUSEW interactive platform and make sure your profile reflects who you are and what you are looking for. This helps other participants find and connect with you.

Already been to EUSEW before? Good news! If you have previously registered for EUSEW, there is no need to start from scratch. Just log back into your existing profile using your login. Your details are already there, ready to go. Do not forget to update your profile if anything has changed since.

  • Use the networking tools: the interactive platform lets you check out the attendees and request meetings. If there is someone you would really like to meet, do not wait until the event, reach out ahead of time.
  • Spark a conversation: invite other participants to join your virtual 'room' for a discussion. This is especially beneficial for online attendees looking to connect and network.

Drop by the Energy Fair

The Energy Fair runs every day alongside the Policy Conference. This is where you will find projects, organisations and start-ups showcasing their work, and where innovation comes alive. Think hands-on demos, bold ideas, interactive formats and plenty of people who love talking about the future of energy. It is buzzing with activity and packed with inspiration. You will be able to discover new technologies and see what others are working on in the interactive stands, with fun formats and a strong sense of collaborative energy throughout the space.

To maximise your visit, review the exhibitor list ahead of time and highlight those most relevant to your interests. Plan your visit by allocating specific time slots to explore the fair, considering where exhibitors are located within the venue. Prepare some questions or discussion points in advance to engage more meaningfully with participants.

Spread the word

If you are enjoying the EUSEW experience or getting ready to attend, do not forget to share it with your network. Promoting the event online helps grow the community and support the energy transition. Use the official hashtag #EUSEW2025 to join the conversation on social media and connect more sustainably with others attending. You can also use elements from the EUSEW 2025 promotional toolkit, which includes ready to use visuals, banners, and sample posts. It is perfect for sharing updates on your website or social media platforms.

One last thing

EUSEW is about more than just attending sessions. It is a rare opportunity to be part of Europe’s largest energy community working for a just and competitive energy transition. By planning ahead, exploring the space, and making the most of your profile, you will leave the event with ideas, contacts and inspiration that last far beyond the event itself.

So pack your bag, charge your electronics, and bring a curious mindset. You’re one in a million, and we are glad you are here.
