Description
We cordially invite you to join the discussion and be part of the Fraunhofer Twin Transition Series!
This time we will focus on digitalization and standardization for batteries: building a bridge between materials, production, use and recycling – and showcasing the importance and added value of R&I in this process.
Batteries are a key component of our future energy and mobility system. The Net-Zero Industry Act and the Critical Raw Materials Act have only recently highlighted their strategic relevance for Europe’s independence and competitiveness. Yet, they are the most complex elements in the system with tremendous environmental impact. Within the Circular Economy Action Plan, the soon to be adopted Battery Regulation ensures sustainability, performance and labelling requirements, due diligence for social and environmental risks, waste collection, recyling efficiency, material recovery and replacement options.
To implement the Battery Regulation, we need key enabling technologies and innovative solutions for greening the life cycle of batteries.
After our first webinar on batteries and their potential of reuse, repair and recycling, Fraunhofer experts will now highlight the challenges and the potential for the digitalization of batteries and the need for adequate standards. We are looking forward to being joined by Anna Cavazzini, Member of the European Parliament.
