Giving younger generations the chance to be heard and to help shape EU policies is a key priority for the current Commission (2024-2029). The political guidelines clearly state a commitment to giving young people greater agency and responsibility within our societies and democracies. EUSEW actively contributes to these objectives by putting in place specific actions for youth and their engagement: the European Youth Energy Day (EYED) and the Young Energy Ambassadors (YEA) programme.

The European Youth Energy Day is the dedicated space for the Young Energy Ambassadors at EUSEW. It reflects the evolution of youth engagement, growing from a series of youth-focused activities at the conference into a year-long programme.

The Young Energy Ambassadors are young professionals aged 18-35 who engage in the dialogue on Europe’s clean energy transition. They help shape discussions, develop recommendations and bring youth perspectives into EU energy platform.
The call to apply to be a Young Energy Ambassador is now closed. However, the guidelines and the blog on the opportunities related to the programme remain available for reference to all applicants.
