This year’s Energy Fair, held during the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2025 at the Charlemagne Building in Brussels, once again proved to be a vibrant hub of inspiration and exchange.

The European Sustainable Energy Week 2025 saw record-high youth engagement, with the Young Energy Ambassadors (YEAs) playing a central role through the European Youth Energy Day programme and shaping the event’s discussions more broadly.

Three outstanding individuals and projects have won the 2025 European Sustainable Energy Awards for their innovation and achievements in the field of energy efficiency and renewables.

AQUABATTERY, a company leading a pilot to commercialise the world’s most sustainable, affordable and scalable long duration energy storage solution based on saltwater, has won the 2025 European Sustainable Energy Award in the innovation category.

The Community Energy for Social Housing initiative in Otterbeek, Mechelen, which works with the local community to provide renewable energy access to vulnerable tenants, has won the 2025 European Sustainable Energy Award in the Local Energy Action category.

Greek academic Dr. Stella Tsani has won the 2025 European Sustainable Energy Award in the Woman in Energy category, rewarding her efforts to bridge research and action around energy and the environment, while investing heavily in the next generation of energy professionals, especially young women.
