Launched in 2023, the first-ever cohort of Young Energy Ambassadors programme invited young professionals aged 18 to 34 working in the energy sector across Europe. Representing some of Europe’s leading voices advocating for a sustainable, secure, and clean energy future for Europe and the world, this group of 30 individuals engaged in outreach activities during and after the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW), under a one-year mandate.
The 2024 cohort of Young Energy Ambassadors was established in April and included participants from 22 different nationalities.
Young Energy Ambassadors are at the centre of EUSEW’sthe European Youth Energy Day. This youth-centric component of the event hosted:
- A dialogue between generations to explore the challenges and opportunities from each generation's perspective, as well as potential avenues for intergenerational cooperation.
- A closed-door session to co-create recommendations on the future of clean energy for the incoming Commissioner in charge of energy transition.
- A dialogue with Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič during the closing session.
