A collective vision for EUSEW 2025: call for policy session organisers

Policy sessions call 2025

The European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2025 will take place from 10 to 12 June 2025. As a central forum for the European clean energy transition, EUSEW is now accepting applications to host policy sessions. This is your opportunity to shape this year’s event, gain visibility within the community, and take part in impactful discussions around renewable energy and energy efficiency policies.

Key themes and focus areas
Aligned with its commitment to the EU’s energy and climate objectives, EUSEW 2025 will focus on the Clean Industrial Deal and the role of EU policy in advancing a clean, competitive, and just energy transition.

From discussing pioneering energy solutions to addressing energy poverty, EUSEW’s policy conference will provide an arena to debate how to reach the continent’s energy targets in a fair, cost effective and competitive way. Now, in its 19th edition, EUSEW has become a vibrant and diverse community, bringing together participants both in Brussels and online through its dedicated platform.

Every year, EUSEW is co-created with stakeholders. All the elements of the conference including the Policy Conference and Energy Fair, but also other programme elements—such as the Sustainable Energy Days and Awards are effectively crowdsourced directly from this community of practice.

Why help shape the Policy Conference
Policy sessions take place both in person and on-line, bringing together thousands of European industry representatives, researchers, policymakers, public institutions, and energy organisations to discuss Europe’s next steps in the energy transition. Hosting a policy session at EUSEW 2025 allows you to play a pivotal role in shaping Europe’s sustainable energy agenda:

  • With the spotlight on your session, position your organisation at the forefront of critical policy debates.
  • Become the topic of conversation among EUSEW participants during breaks by showcasing your contributions to Europe’s energy transition from the stage.
  • Gain visibility in the lead-up to EUSEW by leveraging a well-established community brand and building valuable connections more efficiently.
  • During the event week, as media coverage highlights the discussions, ensure your expertise takes centre stage and helps shape the policy agenda.

Gain insights for your application during the info session
Out of the 200-300 expected applications, we aim to give as many community members as possible a chance to shine. In addition to the approximately 60 proposals that DG ENER will invite to join the main programme, we will offer a few more slots for collaborative sessions (for select proposals as a single consortium) and some applicants will have the opportunity to join the online-only programme.

To ensure you have all the information needed to succeed with your preferred format, join the EUSEW 2025 Info Session on 14 November 2024, from 11:00 till 12:30 CET. Hosted online by the Directorate-General for Energy (DG ENER) and the European Climate, Infrastructure, and Environment Executive Agency (CINEA), this session will provide detailed guidance on this year’s priorities, upcoming calls, and selection criteria for Policy Conference applications.
