Woman in Energy Award: recognising success in the energy sector

Two women shake hands at a conference, one of them holds an award.

The annual European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) Awards celebrate the success of both individuals and collective actions within the energy efficiency and renewable energy sectors.

The 18th edition of EUSEW, under the theme of ‘Net-zero energy solutions for a competitive Europe’, aims to inspire transformative ideas and initiatives. Make a note in your calendars for 11-13 June 2024, and join us in Brussels or online as we honour the groundbreaking achievements shaping a greener future for Europe.

The call for excellence is open: apply for the EUSEW Awards until 1 February 2024.

Honouring women’s impact

The EUSEW Woman in Energy Award celebrates women who have made a significant contribution to Europe’s clean energy transition through exemplary leadership and outstanding work and activities. Central to this recognition is their dedication to mainstreaming gender diversity and promoting equality and equal opportunities within the energy sector.

Materials engineer Anastasia-Maria Moschovi is Head of Research, Development and Innovation at Monolithos in Athens, Greece. She leads several EU-funded projects developing innovative technologies in hydrogen, green energy generation and storage, and electric vehicles (EVs). In 2023, she won the award for her work on decarbonising industry, using a patented technique for the hydrometallurgical recovery of critical raw materials for new devices, thereby reducing both environmental impacts and costs and contributing to the European Green Deal and Europe 2050 goals. According to her colleagues, Anastasia promotes an inclusive and democratic work environment, and she is very supportive of women in business, encouraging them to achieve their professional dreams.

Awards Ceremony and beyond

The winner will be decided through an online public vote, open from 30 April to 2 June 2024. The three finalists will receive invitations to the Awards Ceremony on 11 June 2024.

The adventure does not finish with the ceremony and announcement of the winner. The recognition that finalists gain extends well beyond the realm of EUSEW. A professional film crew will record their work in promotional videos, raising their profiles across EUSEW communication channels. Their success stories will travel far and wide, reaching pan-EU and local media outlets.

This could be you! Apply now for the 2024 EUSEW Woman in Energy Award.
