Young Energy Ambassadors

Digitally engaged young people (from 18 to 34 years old, from the date EUSEW takes place), who are among Europe’s leading voices, passionate about building a sustainable, secure and clean energy future for Europe and the world. Young Energy Ambassadors are invited to help boost EUSEW’s messages within the youth energy community and among stakeholders, as well as advocate for this year’s theme ‘Net-zero energy solutions for a competitive Europe’. In return, young energy ambassadors benefit from the partnership and high-level visibility across official communication channels. Ela is an energy policy enthusiast and a passionate advocate for youth empowerment in the energy transition. As a member of YOUNGO, she has steered youth engagement on energy-related themes at COP28. She is currently leading the group’s energy-related work as the Energy Contact Point in preparation for COP29. Having recently earned her master’s degree in politics and technology, she focused her academic pursuits on EU energy politics and the energy trilemma, with a particular emphasis on European energy security. She is currently applying and expanding her knowledge as a trainee at Austria’s largest energy provider.

Devesh, an architect and urban designer, is dedicated to integrating sustainable energy practices into urban development. With a passion for innovative solutions, he strives to create environmentally conscious spaces that prioritize energy efficiency and community well-being, shaping a greener urban future.

Izidor is an enthusiastic and publicly engaged economist with vast interdisciplinary knowledge. He combines his formal work as an analyst and policy expert at GEN-I, one of Slovenian most propulsive energy firms, with being a member of Youth for Climate Justice, a movement striving for progressive people- and nature-oriented climate measures.

Réka is an expert in Renewables Business Development at MET Group and is responsible for achieving the company's ambitious renewable energy targets throughout Europe. She is also a project team member who is actively shaping the company's first ESG strategy. She holds a double degree from CEMS Master's in International Management. Last year, she was awarded the "Women Shaping the Energy Future" scholarship by the University of St. Gallen, which allowed her to complete an Executive Education Programme in Renewable Energy Management.

Bettina is a student in Tartu University. She is intrigued by green energy solutions in Europe – a topic which she studies. Having participated in the EU citizen’s panel on energy efficiency, her interest for the topic has grown, especially in understanding how the transition will impact individuals.

Alejandro began his journey as an ecosocial activist at the SEO/Birdlife Youth Board in 2017. He has represented Spanish youth at various climate summits. He is collaborating with UNESCO to develop YoU-CAN, the global network of youth for climate action. His experience and critical perspective is explained in his book ‘Gritar lo que está callado’ (De Conatus).

Cosima is an MSc student in Energy Economics and Policy at Sciences Po Paris and King’s College London. Her interests and experience in the energy sector focus on energy market design and hydrogen policy. Cosima also co-leads the events team of Women in Green Hydrogen, where she promotes the vision of a diverse and equal energy transition.

Samia is a leading expert in energy decarbonisation, specialising in hydrogen and solar power, with a strong background in nuclear energy.  She has served as a Decarbonisation Project Engineer across various entities within the ENGIE Group. Samia spearheads impactful projects worldwide, collaborating with stakeholders to reduce carbon footprints. Her tenure has been marked by a commitment to innovation, partnership-building, and representation of France at prestigious summits like EYNGF, all contributing to the global transition to cleaner energy.

Margarita is the founder of Margreen & Behind the Greens Media, having worked as a content creator and educator for over 14 years. With her content, she aims to put into the spotlight environmental solutions and technological advancements while inspiring those on the frontline of changing our planet and environment for the better. She uses photo, video, storytelling, and presentation skills to focus not on the problems but the solutions that are already available.

Joshua is a 21-year-old climate advocate from Germany. He was a delegate at more than five United Nations Conferences. As the German UN Youth Delegate for PreCOP26, he was involved in writing the Global Youth Position Paper for the annual United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26). Representing young voices at UN summits like COP26, COP27, COP28 and Stockholm+50, he amplified youth voices and the need for urgent climate action at different public speaking engagements, such as the EU Climate Diplomacy Week. He also served as Europe’s UNICEF Youth Foresight Fellow to implement a youth-led trend analysis for the UNICEF Global Outlook Report on Children and reported for the European Commission (DG NEAR) as an EU Social Media Influencer. As a pianist, he combines music, poetry and activism and performs internationally at different UN summits. Currently, he is studying climate politics with a full merit scholarship at Harvard University.
