GUIDELINES EUSEW AWARDS 2023

The European Sustainable Energy Awards recognise outstanding individuals and projects for their innovation and efforts in the field of energy efficiency and renewables.

The deadline to apply for the EUSEW Awards has now passed, and no further applications will be accepted. Applicants can expect to be informed about whether they are a finalist by the end of March.

⚡️ Prizes are awarded in three categories:

INNOVATION

The EUSEW Innovation Award recognises outstanding ongoing or recently completed EU-funded projects that show an original and innovative path towards the clean energy transition.

LOCAL ENERGY ACTION

The EUSEW Local Energy Action Award recognises implemented sustainable energy actions, driven by a group of citizens or consumers (associated with a municipality or other stakeholders), which contribute to the clean energy transition at the community or local level.

WOMAN IN ENERGY

The EUSEW Woman in Energy Award recognises women who lead outstanding activities that, if replicated, help to advance the clean energy transition in Europe. Particular attention is placed on efforts to drive the gender mainstreaming agenda and support equality and equal opportunities in the energy sector.

⚡️ Finalists are chosen by a high-level jury from a shortlist of the year’s most impactful projects and actions for clean, secure and efficient energy, and the winners are decided by an online public vote (starting in May 2023). A film crew will visit the locations of the finalists' activities and interview key actors to feature them in EUSEW communications.

⚡️ The three finalists for each award category are invited to the Awards ceremony on 20 June 2023 in Brussels.
