The European Sustainable Energy Awards recognise outstanding individuals, innovations, and achievements in renewable energy and energy efficiency across Europe, promoting best practices and raising awareness of sustainable energy solutions and projects that advance Europe’s decarbonisation.
The Awards competition highlights new and innovative ways to shape Europe’s energy future and culminates with the Awards ceremony at the Policy Conference on 10 June 2025.
The EUSEW Awards allow applications or nominations in three categories:
- Innovation: highlighting groundbreaking EU-funded projects.
- Local Energy Action: showcasing grassroots solutions for a sustainable energy future.
- Woman in Energy: recognising women making an exceptional impact in the energy sector.
Finalists are selected by a high-level jury, and winners are decided by a public vote in the three categories.
The EUSEW Awards ceremony will be held during the EUSEW Policy Conference in Brussels on 10 June 2025. The call for the Awards is now open until 30 January 2025. You can find inspiration for your application or nomination by exploring our winners from the previous editions.
Next to joining the Awards, you may also submit a proposal to host a policy session, promote clean energy and energy efficiency by hosting a Sustainable Energy Day or apply to be a Young Energy Ambassador.
Mark your calendar for the upcoming calls by checking out the Info Session page where you can find the timeline, Info Session recording, PowerPoint presentation with the main deadlines and considerations, as well as the Q&A document.
Anyone based in the EU can submit a recent project that is helping citizens, industry, or the public sector work towards achieving the EU Green Deal objectives. This includes:
- Organisations and individuals working in energy efficiency and renewables.
- Local initiatives and projects advancing EU Green Deal objectives.
- Women driving progress in the clean energy transition.
Everyone is encouraged to participate in the online public vote once the finalists are announced.
Winners and finalists of the EUSEW Awards benefit from significant visibility support:
- A high-quality video produced by our professional crew, promoted through EUSEW’s own and partner channels.
- A press package, including a feature story, distributed to pan-European and local media outlets.
- Attendance at the Awards ceremony in Brussels.
Finally, winning an EUSEW Award can create new opportunities within the sustainable energy sector. The EUSEW Policy Conference 2025 will bring together thousands of professionals interested in the Clean Industrial Deal and the role of EU energy policy in advancing a clean, competitive, and just transition.
