Cool Heating Coalition

Cool Heating Coalition (CHC) is a group of 16 NGOs and think-tanks working together towards decarbonised, renewable and affordable heating and cooling (H&C) for all in the EU by 2040. Launched in 2024, CHC is now recognised as the key organisation in Brussels for decarbonising H&C. The coalition secretariat coordinates and supports the work of its 16 members, running joint EU-level campaigns to progress the rollout of clean H&C within the context of reducing emissions and energy demand.

CHC’s 16 members are established think-tanks and consumer, social, city, health advocacy, and environmental organisations. Active in 40 European countries (beyond EU borders), CHC members represent over 3000 national and local member organisations. The coalition’s current members are: CAN Europe – Climate Action Network Europe, BEUC - European Consumer Organisation, BPIE – Buildings Performance Institute Europe, Energy Cities, ECOS – Environmental Coalition on Standards, EEB – European Environmental Bureau, RAP - Regulatory Assistance Project, CEE Bankwatch, FEANTSA – European Federation working with the homeless, EPHA – European Public Health Alliance, Fern, RESCoop.eu, Carbon Market Watch, EIA – the Environmental Investigation Agency, E3G – Third Generation Environmentalism, European Climate Foundation.
