Description
Exhibition of a pilot experience in Spanish rural areas of the educational project "Learn by playing and teaches playing energy and its relationship with the environment".
The essential purpose of this educational project is to use an educational game as a tool to share and discuss experiences, knowledge and concerns about the interaction between energy and environment, between adolescents and older people in rural scarcely populated areas in Spain. This initiative seeks to understand the present, past and future impact of this relationship in their lives, promoting an enriching intergenerational dialogue.
The project is carried out by means of the educational game 'from renewable to renewable', a cardboard game designed to promote energy saving, respect for the environment and the promotion of renewable energies. It has had the participation of a wide range of entities: three institutes and their parent association, a concerted school, three senior and retired centers, two religious congregations, two municipalities, a bar, a neuropsychological rehabilitation center, an office of tourism and a library. All participants have interacted directly with the educational content integrated in the game, which has allowed a tangible and committed learning experience.
Public target of the event: The event is mainly aimed at the representatives of the various participants who have voluntarily involved in the pilot project 'Learn by playing and teaches playing', covering a broad spectrum of the educational and social community. Indirectly, it also seeks to capture the interest of those people committed to the sustainable development of scarcely populated rural areas, underlining the importance of environmental education in these environments.
The purpose of the event is double: First of all, gather the representatives of the various groups who have participated in the pilot project 'Learn by playing and teaches playing', allowing a space for joint exchange and reflection. Secondly, it seeks to function as a showcase for the results achieved through this innovative experience, implemented by ALIDA Ingeniería del Medio S.L. in the towns of Toro (December 2023-February 2024) and Alcañices (February to April 2024), in the province of Zamora, Spain.
The fundamental contribution of the project to the EU energy and climate objectives lies in sensitizing the population of rural scarcely populated areas, historically marginalized by public policies, on the interconnection between energy and environment. This effort seeks to promote deep understanding and active participation in the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions, underlining the vital role of the community in the confrontation of climate change.
The main activities of the event will include:
- An initial session where participants will be presented, recognizing their contribution and volunteer in this pilot experience;
- A detailed exhibition of the results obtained; and an argument on how to replicate this experience in other similar areas, both in Spain and internationally;
- A match of the game, in carpet format, between teenagers and older will be organized, rewarding the winners with the game translate in English, in canvas format, ideal to take the pool or the beach on vacation;
The event will culminate with a general thanks, celebrating the collaboration of all participants and the support of ALIDA on its anniversary, underlining the success of this pilot initiative.
