Sustainable Energy Day - Cidadania Energética

The ComEnerg project of the Instituto Jurídico works to project energy communities as instruments to generate energy citizenship, promoting education and articulation between the various stakeholders in the context of their constitution, installation and governance. 

In this context, to achieve its purpose of clarification and dissemination of energy citizenship among citizens and, in order to align with EU institutions that develop similar activities, intends to bring to Portugal the event model proposed by the European Union, the Sustainable Energy Days, which are held with the purpose of promoting actions and activities related to energy transition. 

The event intends to bring major Portuguese specialists on the subject of energy communities, aligning propositional discussions on the role of these communities from dialogues that present legal contributions towards new sustainable paths, with a strong dialogic and commutative character. It is worth mentioning that the event will be held on the day of the World Wind Day, an important source of renewable energy. The event will be directed to the community in general and the discussions will be conducted under the focus of social justice to demystify theoretical concepts and promote energy citizenship.

Some of the dissemination effects are: the propagation of the research conducted at the UC; the bringing together of civil society, academia, and government entities; the updating of concepts; the alignment of research; the exchange of research at a national level, and the opportunity to develop skills in science communication through the possibility of presenting academic papers.
