Description
The European Union has an objective of achieving a zero-emission building stock by 2050. Such a target is realistic only if, from now on, we boost our renovation rates while aiming for the highest possible energy standards.
But, especially in the residential sector, the market offer for ambitious energy renovations is fragmented and mostly uncoordinated. On the demand side, most homeowners lack the capacity to set-up and supervise complex and ambitious projects. Furthermore, many face obstacles in accessing the necessary up-front financial resources.
One-Stop Shops for home energy renovation are the answer to this challenge. They are offering integrated home renovation services that make the complex renovation process attractive, simple, tailor-made and accessible to all homeowners. The new Energy Efficiency Directive (EED) and the Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) both recognise One-Stop Shops for energy renovation of buildings as a major tool for achieving a zero-emission building stock by 2050.
Member States will need to roll out one One-Stop Shop for every 80,000 inhabitants or at least one per region and provide advice on energy renovations as well as dedicate services to tackle energy poverty and vulnerable households.
Hundreds of One-Stop Shops are already operating all over Europe. Thousands of organisations support their activities - public authorities, energy agencies, suppliers, homeowner associations, energy auditors, architects, NGOs, financial institutions and others.
Today, all these actors are gathering in a new European Community of Practice, named EU Peers, with the objective to strengthen and upscale the Integrated Home Renovation Services movement in Europe. Are you one of them? This event is for you!
Join us and MEET your EU Peers. LEARN from each other. INSPIRE and get inspired. CELEBRATE the fact that YOUR European Community of Practice is now alive. We are waiting for you to shape it!
