Building bridges in clean energy: the power of networking

Europe meeting its climate goals requires an active and informed community of researchers, industry and citizens. The Energy Fair at the European Sustainable Energy Week (EUSEW) 2024 will facilitate effective collaborations among community members working toward the clean energy transition.

What is it all about?

At the EUSEW Energy Fair, you can have an onsite stand to share your ideas and the achievements of your organisation in person, build your network, exchange knowledge and access opportunities.

Your presence at the Energy Fair will enable you to make personal contacts with other individuals and organisations working in the fields of energy efficiency and renewable energy. Successful applicants will receive technical support during the event regarding logistics, audiovisual services, training and more.

The call to host a stand opens on 16 January 2024.

Check out our suggestions for making the most of this networking opportunity.

Maximise your impact

You only have a few seconds to make a good impression and connect with other attendees. So, prepare a brief ‘elevator pitch’ about your project to ensure all personal interactions go as smoothly as possible and be ready to answer any questions.

EUSEW 2024 aims to be as paperless as possible, so exhibitors should only bring a very small number of flyers to show people but not distribute them. A TV screen will be made available for each stand, which exhibitors can use to demonstrate their projects, websites and other presentations effectively along with their own tablets or laptops.

Share the successful outcomes and best practices from your work and encourage others to replicate them. Let them know how you solved technical challenges and how they can do the same or collaborate with you.

Get creative

Remember: networking goes both ways. The Energy Fair is not only about sharing your expertise, it is also an opportunity to gain advice and knowledge from other participants. Decide what you want to get out of the Energy Fair before the event and use the online networking environment to identify interesting contacts.

The Energy Fair is designed to facilitate person-to-person interactions during the actual event, while laying the foundations for future collaboration. Hosting a stand with a strong visual impact and message and providing clear contact details will enable you stay in touch with new, potential partners beyond the event and into the future. You can be imaginative: incorporating elements such as virtual reality demonstrations, interactive games and engaging quizzes will not only captivate visitors but also create a memorable experience that encourages connections.

When and where is it taking place?

The Energy Fair runs in parallel with the EUSEW Policy Conference and will take place on 11-13 June 2024, in Brussels.

Who will be there?

The Energy Fair is open to all onsite participants of EUSEW 2024.

Representatives from industry, SMEs and start-ups, national, regional and local authority networks, citizen groups, and consumer and youth associations will attend with the aim of building effective and enduring professional ties and friendships. Both participants and stakeholders will benefit significantly from the exchange of ideas and information and future cooperation.
