The ‘Solar Energy – How it works’ workshop intends to be a training and awareness-raising session and a privileged action to instil new concepts of sustainable energy production and management, new perceptions on energy inefficiencies, and to learn new practices, leading to a more rational use of energy. The main idea is to build, with the participants, a small demonstration kit of a photovoltaic system to explain how solar energy is transformed into electricity.
This action is included in Afurada Living Lab, a project that foresees a series of actions for the production and storage of renewable energy in buildings, as well as the promotion of conscious consumption of energy resources. The aim of this action is to organise an awareness-raising session on rational energy management and use for energy users (e.g. consumers; households; youth; students), with the following objectives: - Conduct rational energy management in buildings, promoting the acquisition of efficient equipment and systems; - Demonstrate how changes in behaviour can be translated into effective energy savings; - Establish systematic procedures for the creation and implementation of renewable energy production systems.
